In January 2015, I opened my preschool for the first time. I was very happy because the parents all worked together to bring their kids to school. Some of the children were still shy and wanted their mothers to be by their sides. However, I was very grateful for the encouragement parents gave to their children. The first day was very difficult for me to become accustomed with the children because I did not yet know them well. However, the introductory session with them went well. I asked each of them their name, and then did some activities to help them learn how to write them. For example, I wrote their names in a dotted line and instructed them to write each letter by following their lines. After that, I asked them to introduce themselves to their friends.

On Tuesday, I taught them about the importance of hygiene. In order to do that, I put together combs, powder, and nail clippers. I tied the girls’ hair, applied some powder on them, and checked that their nails were clipped. Then, I explained to them that this was how they could keep themselves clean and presentable before going to class.

On Wednesday, I taught them some body movements. I demonstrated different actions and encouraged the kids to imitate them.

On Thursday, we did an art activity using watercolours and their handprints. I prepared a piece of paper for each of them and applied some watercolour on their palms, so that they could make handprints on the paper.

There was no class on Friday due to unforeseen circumstances.

On this first week of teaching, I gained many different experiences as I worked with the children. I am happy because things went well this week.

Hari pertama bila saya membuka kelas tadika yang pertama di tahun 2015 ini, saya amat berbesar hati kerana ibubapa dapat berkerjasama dengan saya untuk menghantar anak-anak mereka ke kelas saya. Demikian, juga ada di segelintir anak-anak yang masih bermanja dengan ibubapa mereka yang mahu ditemani ibu mereka . Walaubagaimana , saya amat berterima kasih kepada ibubapa kerana memberi galakkan terhadap anak-anak mereka. Di hari pertama ini memang amat sukar untuk saya menyesuaikan diri dengan kanak-kanak kerana saya belum lagi mengenali mereka dengan baik. Namun demikian di sesi pengenalan dengan kanak-kanak dapat berjalan lancar. Saya menanyakan disetiap nama mereka dan membuat aktiviti belajar menulis nama mereka . Cohtoh= saya menyediakan satu kertas disetiap mereka kemudian membuat titik mengikuti huruf disetiap nama mereka dan mengarahkan mereka mengikut titik tersebut dengan nama mereka sendiri. Selepas itu, menyuruh mereka memperkenalkan diri di hadapan kepada kawan-kawan.

Pada hari selasa, saya mengajar tentang kebersihan diri. Oleh itu, saya menyediakan sikat, bedak,dan pemotong kuku. Saya megikat rambut mereka, meletakkan bedak di muka dan badan kemudian memeriksa kuku . Kemudian, menerangkan cara bagaimana menjaga kebersihan diri sebelum hendak pergi ke kelas.

Hari rabu, saya mengajar bagaimana membuat pergerakan. Cotoh saya membuat titik pergerakan yang berbeza-beza.Kemudian menyuruh mereka mengikuti setiap titik pergerakan tersebut.

Hari khamis, saya membuat aktiviti seni, mengunakan warna air dengan tapak tangan mereka. Saya menyediakan satu kertas kemudian saya mengecat tapak tangan dan menyuruh mereka menampal di kertas mereka sendiri. Pada hari jumaat saya tidak membuka kelas sebab ada masalah tertentu. Di minggu pertama, saya mula mengajar saya pun telah mendapat penggalaman yang berbeza semasa menyalani tingkah laku kanak-kanak. Saya berasa gembira di hari pertama mengajar kerana semuanya dapat berjalan dengan baik.
